Not sure where to start?

If you’re concerned about your child’s communication, it can be difficult to know what to do next. Before arranging a private assessment, I recommend starting with the following trusted resources.

Choose the starting point that fits your child

Begin with free information and advice

1

Is your child aged 6 months to 11 years?

Speech and Language UK Child Progress Checker

The Child Progress Checker is an excellent place to begin. It asks a series of simple questions about your child’s communication and provides tailored advice based on your answers.

Depending on the outcome, Speech and Language UK may also suggest contacting their own free Advice Line.
